Caring Ministry

Caring for others by meeting the needs of those inside and outside the church. For several years we’ve partnered with a local ministry called Matthew 25, located in downtown Cedar Rapids. Called “Transform Week”, volunteers spend the week rebuilding, repairing, upgrading homes and encouraging residents in the Time Check area of Cedar Rapids. Go to their website to learn more.

Marion Senior Living 5K Run

This annual race begins and ends in the Christ Community parking lot, but the fun and prizes continue inside! Both runners and walkers participate and all proceeds benefit the Marion Senior Living Community, helping to provide affordable and safe housing for the older folks in Marion.

Community Garden

For anyone who likes to garden, or would just like to help out! Produce from the Community Garden is delivered to local food pantries to make fresh produce available to everyone in the community. Every spring, summer and fall, sign up to be a gardener!

So Many Ways!

There are many opportunities to serve within the walls and outside the walls of Christ Community. Here are just a few -

Sunday Hospitality - greeters, ushers, refreshment center, and welcoming folks at the Connection Center. In Worship - Scripture reading, assisting with Holy Communion, helping with Children’s Church, and assisting in the media booth. On Wednesday nights - Assisting with Youth Group or Kid’s Club, preparing and serving the Wednesday night meal, and in the nursery.
